This morning, I was in front of the Museum with hundreds of people - TopicsExpress

This morning, I was in front of the Museum with hundreds of people in two lines. Im, more or less, playing gatekeeper. Its cold. Rain is POURING outside. An older white man who looks not unlike he just stepped out of a country club walks up and asks if he can cut the line to get inside with his group. No, Sir. This is just the line for security, not tickets. It wont be too much longer, but you have to wait behind these folks. Why? Sir, they were here first. He looks at me like Ive just given him an advanced calculus problem and explained how to do it in French. And then, goes back to the line. Five minutes go by. Rain is still pouring. Everyone is wet and cold but being polite... except for him. He walks back up to me and stares intently. Are you saying youre going to make me wait here in the rain while my group is inside? Sir, Im saying there are forty people in front of you, and you are not special enough to warrant my letting you inside ahead of them. Return to the line before you lose your spot. He glares at me before returning to the line. This is not the first time this is happened, and its almost always white men who attempt to life hack their way inside. Drives me insane.
