This morning Ryan received a parcel, addressed to Prince Ryan Walker! I wondered what it could be, but then the logo Bethanys Wish gave it all away. We have seen all about this, when we have been googling Wilms Tumour. Inside was a gorgeous array of items to help distract Ryan whilst he is home or in hospital. It is gorgeous and he is loving playing with all the items inside of it. This lovely gift has come from Bethanys Wish. Bethanys Wish is a charitable trust, formed after the sad loss of Bethany who like Ryan was diagnosed with a Wilms Tumour in 2009. She fought and won her battle in November 2009. Sadly she relapsed in 2011, but again went on with a lot of courage to again beat it. In 2012, after a routine scan it was confirmed that the cancer had returned and was not treatable. She grew her angel wings on 12.10.12. This is what they wrote about the trust : Bethanys wish, a charitable trust was formed from donations during Bethanys fight. We intend to ensure that her fight was not in vain, that her memory and her smile live on forever. We hope that one day a cure might be found, and that other families suffering from Wilms tumour and other childhood cancers can have some happiness in their lives. As we are on Ryans journey, this is a huge fear that we have that after all this chemo, the cancer could still come back. It is something we have to live with for the rest of our lives.
