This morning as we set out on Day 3 of our strike, remember that to win this battle, the soldiers must hold fast and together despite the heat. Our generals are in the battle front and we must back them up. Threats of salary cuts, sacking and lately unspecified action should only make our RESOLVE GREATER.Bro Mudzo Nzili & Bro Wilson Sossion and the entire National Steering are battle hardened and will push government hard. THEY NEED OUR TOTAL SUPPORT!SOMETIMES WHAT WE ARE EARNING IS SO LITTLE TSC HAS NOTHING TO STOP AND OUR SITUATION CANT GET ANY WORSE. We therefore urge our members to know the following 1. LEAVE ALLOWANCE OF KSH 4000 once a year will not make us call off the strike. 2. HARDSHIP ALLOWANCE is being offered as a banded item rather than as a percentage as contained in our 1997 legal notice 534.(how many teachers earn this allowance? ) 3. SPECIAL DUTY ALLOWANCE:To be paid only when a teacher attends special duty outside the station. ( where else do teachers work except in schools? How many times do we attend trips, music, games etc. When will TSC pay these claims?) 4. HOUSE ALLOWANCES;BANDED AND INCREASED BY 300 BOB FOR THE 150,000 Teachers in lower grades and 10000 for the 99 teachers in job group R. 5.CAR LOANS & MORTAGAGES. Can our ksh 16,698 gross salary service these loans???? THESE ARE THE OFFERS TSC brought as counter offers to our demand for 150% salary rise! COMRADES the battle is nigh!Hold fast. This is a battle we must win. We would rather die on our feet than live forever on our knees. Walimu wenzangu...kaeni NGUMU! ALUTA CONTINUA
