This morning on my drive to Muddys Grind House, I passed a man at the intersection of Peabody and Cooper. I saw that he was trying to get my attention, and honestly I acted as if I didnt see him. I got to Muddys, parked, and something told me to go find him. So I walked back towards Peabody, and he was still there. When I reached him, I asked if he was trying to flag me down, telling him I was in the Jeep that just passed him. He looked at me like I was speaking another language! We stood there for a few seconds--I saw something in that mans eyes! I gave him a few bucks. He reached out for a hug--I hugged him--he cried. Then I cried. We chatted for a few moments about life. He told he had just gotten his new clothes, but needed a shave. We laughed. He asked my name--then shouted he had a niece with my name. We hugged again--I whispered a prayer. That man made my day. He doesnt want to be homeless. But he is. I cant stop thinking of him. Praying for him. Wishing I could do more!
