This morning our new 4-H Tech Wizards pal, Mark Cowan, called about a grant opportunity he had just discovered: a contest to make a 15-30 second video to cheer up military children who have a parent deployed over the holidays. Thing is the deadline is midnight tonight. We hustled through homework zone (all right, eliminated it, what teacher gives homework before the Thanksgiving break anyway???) and went to work. These amazing MST kids had a half hour to organize a team; plan, script and prop their message; and rehearse before going to production. A number of parents came to pick up their kids in the middle of a shoot & were totally awesome about waiting, in some cases through a number of takes, until the shoot was complete. If the captions seem a little odd its because the 9/12 Generation Project website was having some technical difficulties, so were using our fb page to try to get the vids where they need to be by midnight, and they had specific information they wanted included in the submissions. Some of the vids were duplicated and some omitted, I dont know why, but I think Ive got em straight now. For the record Im about as tech savvy as a snapping turtle. :)
