This morning the Supreme Court handed down its decision in Arizona v. Inter Tribal Council of Arizona. In a 7-2 decision, authored by Justice Scalia (with dissents from Justices Alito & Thomas), the Court found that an Arizona law requiring people registering to vote to provide proof of citizenship is preempted by the federal law, the National Voter Registration Act.
