This morning was the 1st time of missing a service (that wasnt related to life-threatening extracurricular activities) since being greeted at the door of the old Dondero High by Reubens warm smile and firm handshake. After reading Jims post about Tom, Ron & Greg believing God enough for a cripple to walk...well, I just sorta lost it behind this keyboard. Enough to consider it being OK to ask for prayer. Im going in Tuesday for blood work and another liver scan, and then back on Wednesday for liver surgery to microwave into oblivion, some cancer they found. So...if youre the type who believes in the power of prayer, then by all means, your prayer is appreciated. I trust God...but Im also scared. Those two are not mutually exclusive. Ive been feeling like the FB church page version of crap. Its episodic, but intense when hitting....like this morning. Anyway, please start your prayer intercession in Amys direction. Anyone with knowledge of our history that kicked off at a Carl & Karen Dahmers epic party will know our marriage is a miracle. This isnt easy for my wife, chief ass-kicker, #1 cheerleader and best friend. Please hold her in your hearts to lift up before the throne of grace. Were not called to create a cozy refuge for disparate Ferndaliens and beyond, or struggle for an elusive consensus that will please everyone but Father. O no my friends! Its much more than that. Were called out of our sin and shame to be no less than conduits of the redemptive blood of Jesus Christ to flow through, that we could comfort others with the comfort weve received, because...The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon us, because the LORD has anointed RVC to bring good news to the poor; he has sent us to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison(s) to those who are bound! To be fishers of men is the best gig ever. Yeah, I know, even a simple request for prayer isnt immune from my pathetic lack of brevity. Thanks
