This note is for all of my PFHA friends: Attached is a letter that will be sent out to Members in the very near future. As the Membership Chair our committee is sharing this via Facebook to make sure all PFHA members are aware of their voting options for the upcoming election. Please take a minute to read AND SHARE! Thank you KK CALLING ALL PFHA MEMBERS: On January 31, 2015, the Paso Fino Horse Association will be electing officers for President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. We want each member to know they have the right to VOTE! For the first time in a very long time, you will each be receiving an absentee ballot by U.S. MAIL from PFHA, (they will also be available on the web-site and in Horse World magazine). In the past, absentee ballots have been made available only via the PFHW and the PFHA web-sites. During the October 2014 meeting, the Board of Directors voted overwhelmingly to mail ballots to our members for this election. We feel it is critical that our members be given an easier path to exercise their voting rights. As you may be aware, a member can vote 3 (three) different ways in the election for National officers: 1. You can vote by absentee ballot. (These are being mailed) 2. You can vote in person at the Annual Membership meeting. (Open meeting held in Louisville KY Jan 31st ,2015) 3. Your vote can be cast by your Regional Delegate. (If you choose not to vote by absentee ballot or in person.) THIS IS IMPORTANT. You have the right to vote individually, but if you do not, your vote will be cast with your regional delegates choice. If you do not belong to a PFHA region, you have to vote with an individual ballot. The PFHA has offered these 3 voting options for many years. But with recent research by the Membership Committee, it is becoming more and more apparent many of our members do not have an understanding of our voting process and their individual options. As representatives of the Association we feel it is our responsibility to increase the Membership involvement in the future of the Association. We hope you will take the time to VOTE and mail in your absentee ballot! In Section 9. Voting, C. Absentee and Proxy Voting. 1. An absentee ballot may be used only for the election of officers. Official notification of the meeting, including agenda and the form for the Absentee Ballot, must be made available to the membership at least three (3) weeks prior to the meeting. All Absentee Ballots shall be completed according to the requirements stated on the ballot, and shall be filed with the Association at least ten (10) days before the meeting and shall show the members Regional Group affiliation. or that you are a National member. Membership Meeting date is Jan 31st, 2015 – Ballots due to PFHA by Jan 21st, 2015 Below are the names and contact information of each person running for office. If you have any questions regarding their candidacy, please contact them. WE WANT YOU AS MEMBERS TO FEEL YOU KNOW YOUR OFFICERS AND THEIR HOPES FOR PFHA’S FUTURE!
