This one is SILLY! The LARGE glass watering globes are much easier to use if you just know how to fill them. I know a lot of people that just threw them away because they were hard to fill. All you have to do is turn the faucet down to a really small stream but still allowing the air in the globe to escape while its filling. Place the long tube so that the water stream is flowing right down into the bulb at one side. With the globes you DONT have to struggle getting the cork back into the mouth of the bottle. Thats much worse than the time it takes to let the globe fill slowly. You cant drill a hole in cork that easily either. The only thing the bottle would be good for is if your vacation is a month long and if you saturate the plant with water filling the bottom tray before you insert the bottle into the hole you dug in the soil. This much water could kill many house plants. Thats just as bad or worse than letting them go dry for a while. Another thing that you can to is use a Tupperwarelike container. Cut a small hole in the lid, get about two feet of hurricane lamp wicking that you can buy by the yard online, pull about 8 inches of the wick through the lid hole. Using a pencil point, push about 4 inches of the other end up into the hole in the bottom of the pot. Fill the container and place the lid on tightly. If theres no hole in the pot bottom then put the container up on a stack of books or something to elevate it to a level that is about 2 1/2 inches above the top edge of the pot as close to the pot as possible. Place the wicking about 2 inches out from the plant laying it around the plant as close to a circle as you can get it. Repeat with all your other plants.
