This past week I was in Maui and now Im on the Big Island for this week, if you havent heard already, a hurricane is coming today. Its going to hit at 2 pm, but the hurricane will officially hit at 7 pm. We spent the morning getting the outside of my uncle Franks house (where were staying) ready for it. So far so good, just lots of wind. But soon there will be both wind and rain, and loads of it. Im not staying in the cottage by his house until the hurricane supposedly passes and everything is settled. My room is pretty safe, but loud as hell considering there are sails covering the screen doors, so when the wind picks it up it snaps back pretty loudly, weve secured the sales covering all the screen doors in the house a bit more so the snap isnt as loud. Theres a possibility we will lose power but as long as the eye of the hurricane doesnt hit us and were spared as much as possible it will all be fine. Overall, weve secured everything and stocked up on possible necessities. The main road/highway has been shut down at 2 and everything has or will be closing down as well. Well be inside until everything settles so well be safe. There was also an earthquake that hit at around 6 am. Although this is the first time Im ever experiencing a hurricane, I think Im the only one in the house actually excited. For those who truly know me, this probably doesnt surprise you. This is the first hurricane since 22 years ago. I think my karma has gotten so bad that its now effected everyone and everything else lol.
