This photo is badly faded, but it is of my father, Paul Shannon, at right and a friend named Murl Alte (I think) taken on what looks to be a downtown Indy street corner where they had set up a lemonade stand on what appears to have been July 4th. Im thinking this might have been around 1915 or 16. My dad was born in 1905. Id guess he was like 10 or 11 in this photo. Sadly my Dad has been gone for several years, so I cant confirm anything. Part of dads childhood was spent living with his father, Frank Shannon in an apartment on S. East St. His mother, my grandmother, Blanche, had flown the coop as it were. The advertising pillar to the left of Murls shoulder is for the English Theater announcing a vaudeville show.
