This photo of the old Church in Upsala, Ontario brings back memories. Not only is it one of the oldest wooden Churchs in the area, but is a noted tribute from the hard work that the immigrants from Finland, Sweden,Norwegians and Danes contributed to the area. Upsala, when I was in Thunder Bay was known for the yearly "Long Distance Running Marathon". In Viking times, Upsala in Sweden was the holiest of towns to pay tribute to the Viking Gods, visited every 7 years and sacrifices were made animals, and humans (slaves)alike to appease the Nordic Gods. So a lot of history in this Church, and the name Upsala!
