This photograph shows the intersection of State Street and Andrews Street. Identifiable businesses include: S. B. Thing & Co., shoes, 130 State Street; Alfred Herle Press, printers, 128 State Street; the I. J. Fisher Furniture Co.; Harry H. Phelan & Co., shoes, 9-11 Andrews Street; and Fred Odenbach & Son saloon, 110-112 State Street. The space in the corner building that formerly housed H. S. Potters has a For Rent sign posted. The building between the corner building and the I. J. Fisher building has a sign reading, Temperance Building. Notes The womens clothing and the mixture of automobiles and horse-drawn conveyances on the street indicate a date before 1920. The restaurant at 14-16 South Avenue, known as Odenbachs, was run by Frederick Odenbach, Jr., ca. 1924. The overall company was later called The Odenbach Company, of which Frederick Odenbach, Jr., was president and treasurer. The family also ran the Hotel Odenbach, a summer resort at Manitou, on Lake Ontario.
