This picture says so much about what is important in life - the love that exists between us as family, and we are one family. I only wish our leaders at Level 1 could respond with more outrage at what is happening here - to intervene in a more forthright way to change the patterns of Israeli-Palestinian engagement - from currencies of violence to ones of discourse towards resolution and strategic nonviolence if necessary, to refuse the gameplaying of right wing Refusniks and obstructionists like Netanyahu and his cohorts who are bent on drumming up excuses to maintain this status quo of low-grade conflict because they have the upper hand when dealing in those terms. US must take a stand to say an emphatic NO to enabling this recurring pattern. It has been Netanyahus strategy since the beginning, No war, no peace, and we have played stupidly along at the expense of vulnerable and powerless people who have been caught in the middle. It is time to put a stop to this. Chiding is not a meaningful response in Israel.
