This post follows on from my ego thread from the other day, it seems that there is some interest in my writing so I share my learnings once more for those interested...ignore if this kind of thing is too woo woo for you. Most of you that know me, know that I share what resonates... FINDING THE PRESENT: You consider it NATURAL to use your past experience as the reference point from which to judge the present - yet this is UNNATURAL, because it is DELUSIONAL. When you have learned to look on everyone with no reference at all to the past, either his or yours as you perceived it. - You will be able to learn from what you see NOW! Time can release as well as imprison, depending on whose interpretation of it you use...you would anticipate the future on the basis of your past experience and plan for it accordingly. Yet by doing so you are aligning past and future and NOT allowing THE MIRACLE which could intervene between them, to free you to be born again Look lovingly upon the present, for it holds the only things that are forever true. All healing lies within it (the present) because its continuity is real. - A Course In Miracles Isnt is amazing how one can spend so much time on regrets, and feel so guilty about these regrets..? I for one have thought long and hard about how things in my own life, could have been different if only I had done this or that instead of, this or that, At the end of the day I am still here, more aware and wiser for my choices that I made at the time. SOME HELPFUL INFO ON THAT DAMB LITTLE BUGGER CALLED EGO... 1.Our ego likes to teach us that we will always encounter our past, and because our dreams were not holy, the future cannot be, and therefore the present is without meaning. 2. Ego also invests heavily in the past, and in the end believes that the past is the only aspect of time that is meaningful. 3. The egos emphasis on guilt enables it to ensure its continuity by making the future like the past and thus avoiding the present. 4. By the notion of paying for the past in the future, the past becomes the determiner of the future, making them continuous without and intervening present. 5. The ego regards the present only as a brief transition to the future, in which it brings the past to the future by interpreting the present in past terms. enjoy, thats enough for one day to take in I am sure. Feel free to comment and discuss and share your thoughts. xxxPauline
