This post is dedicated to Carles - You are indeed a hero for the FBO! You are playing the main role in a beautiful story: Dear all, it is 3h i am at home, with my instruments! As you know they were stolen at the bar in front of Palau de la Música after the concert while i was having a beer with Javi, Tindaro, Marie, Christian, Varoujan, Anne...and a very nice friend of Marie, (Marie, please, give me her number, I want to thank her for all the help). Someone talking on the telephone came in and went out few times, and the last time took my case while I was, as usual, laughing and talking with my colleagues. Everybody helped me, we all went looking for the case (as you know, it has no commercial value: only the two new Schumann instruments for this production, and.....all my reeds, years and years of selection, and all my mouthpieces, my voice...). Everybody we met (police, people who clean the streets and collect the rubbish, passing people...) was extremely nice, supporting and helpful. After one hour of useless research, we gave up and Guya (who was already sleeping at home, then took a taxi and came to support me...) and I went to the police. While I was describing the instruments and the case, I got an email on my telephone: I am Carles, cello player, I was a chamber music student of yours at Esmuc, years ago, I played Schumann and Brahms for my final exam, do you remember me? I went tonight to see my girlfriend and coming back home I saw a black case in the street, with everything in it upside down, instruments, mouthpieces, reeds, I recognized an early clarinet, as those that you played and showed during lessons. I immediately connected it you, the only one I know, and kept searching for information. I found in the case a planning of FBO in Aix with your name. I went home and sent you an email. Please, come to my place at any moment, i understand your situation, the instruments are fine, as fare as I can see. I went to his place, the case was there, i havent checked it yet, but most of it is still there... So, I would like to point out few things, just to get rid of my stress...I cant be more awake in this moment, forgive me! 1) Lippi, I will make you a monument for giving me that planning, the only thing with my name in my case!..Thank you for your very nice call! 2) All the colleagues were so nice to me, I was deeply touched: Tindaro offered me his instruments, he wanted to give them to me immediately! 3) Anne, Marie, Javi, Yoshiko, Christian, Niklas, Varoujan, Maries friend, Tindaro, many of you have to take a flight at 6h in the morning and you spent one hour looking for my instrument....I have no word.... 4) Sasha, Isabelle, Hans Georg....thanks 1000 times for your nice messages, sms, talks, concern, help, involvement....you are part of my family. 5) I really didnt know what to do for the recording...I was desperate...those instruments are unique and new, nobody has that... 6) that case contained most of my artistic life....my instruments, mouthpieces and reeds, it took 25 years to get a decent material...so, please: dont ever leave your case around in Barcelona, ok? Listen to me! Actually, dont leave it anywhere, not even in Basel or Zurich.
