(This post will likely only make sense to those familiar with the LDS religion, but anyone of any faith/belief is welcome to make any respectful comments about this aspect of Mormonism.) Concerning whether or not women ever get the priesthood, I personally am fine with either way. Its not going to affect my testimony. Even if God were to take the priesthood away from us, too. The thing I dont like is that these women often forget who they are in the process. They have gifts from God that are amazing and arguably more valuable: They have the privilege of carrying another soul within their own soul at the beginning of its life. Theyre called to be the primary influence and nurturer for their children, which is, by the doctrine, more important than any church leadership position. And one more thing, which is usually overlooked: Children are always sealed to their mother, not the father. This means that if I was to marry a widow, who was previously happily sealed to her late husband, and with whom she had several children, all children that she and I bore thereafter would belong to her and her first husband--not to me. If I had the choice between holding the priesthood or having a guarantee that my earthly children would be with me for the eternities, I would choose the latter in a heart beat.
