This protest should be held in front of Aso rock or police HQ or PDP HQ Abuja and not in PH. Joining issues with CP in a PDP crisis that is being calibrated from Abuja PDP is a misplaced priority, waste of time and dangerous. Governors should never come down to the level of openly joining issues with CP of state. Who is next and for how long will this PDP crisis linger?. The Gov should simply send a petition to IG or Mr. President. He should not lead any protest against Federal authority in his state. His supporters can do so on his behalf. If Gov. Amaechi leads the protest as threatened; 1. It can be interpreted as abdication of duty by sending protest letter to his appointed SSG. Was SSG elected? NO. The Governor is the constitutionally chief security officer in the state. He should address all security matters and escalate to Abuja if necessary. 2. Leading a protest (without police protection?) in a politically tensed environment can lead to serious fracas as his PDP opponents in the state will likely stage their protest same day. 3. Many more fallout protests (for and against) will rent the state and may be uncontrollable. “Na Governor start am”, that’s what people will be saying!.
