This question was put to me a few weeks ago, and said I did not know the the answer., however, as I go over it in my mind some interesting thought flowed through my mind. The question was Why is Jesus always being portrayed as a White blue eyed individual ? The question may seem as valid at face value but is it really? Now many claimed based on the region (Nazarette) Jesus was born he could not be white. According to the historical facts of Nazarette, even one of his own disciple asked the question, Can anything good come out of Nazarette? So my question is if Jesus was portrayed as a black African, would he and his message be more readily accepted by those who seemingly sees only in black and white or are we subscribing to Thomass notion in his question, that there is nothing good in the African race. Furthermore, when a man is drowning, does it really matter the complexion/origin of the person who may save him/her? Secondly how those this question relevant to the more important issue of sin, would portraying Jesus as black, white, green yellow, African, Arab, Asian, Hispanic save/reconcile us back to God the father. Unfortunately too many people are looking for excuses, looking for the easy way out and live in denial that no matter what their status in life are, they still need God. We can bob and weave all we want but in the end we must answer to what did we do with Jesus the Son of God, sent to deliver us from sin by paying a great price on Calvary. I personally do not get into these debates for the obvious reason that it brings no benefit. It is time we stop playing hide and seek and fest up and turn our lives to Jesus without reservation/hesitation; time is short, now is the acceptable time, tomorrow may be too late. God Bless.
