This reminds me of one of my favorite stories (dont worry, no gory details) of when I was in Greece and we were coming back from a weekend trip. We had to switch lines at a station in Omonia which is where there are a collection of Albanian/African ghettos. We had actually witnessed muggings in this station and being that we had our luggage with us, we needed to sprint down a long hallway, an escalator and then an additional hallway to the blue line track. This is when the bubble guts hit me. I couldnt move, I was clenching so tight, my face was dripping with sweat and I was carrying a 30 pound Adidas duffle bag. I was suffering. I somehow decided the best method was to encourage my travel partners to go ahead of me and leave me behind while I pushed my back up against the wall of the hallway and walked sideways. I ended up missing the metro (although if I remember some of my other companions did as well) and while I was waiting for the next one, the bubble guts died down. Our stop was only two stations away but once we got off, we still had about a 3/4 mile walk (someone can verify that Im sure) back to our flat. I thought I was in the clear but just as we pulled into our station, it hit me again. I was hurting bad. I was clenching and bending over as I was going up the escalator to street level and once we got up I realized I probably wasnt going to make it home. I actually remember telling my other companions to leave me and I starting walking so slow. One step at a time, still clenching. Then all of a sudden, I was like I cant hold it anymore. I started running so fast because there were only apartments and flats around me and I had no where to go. I am pretty sure this is the fastest I have ever run in my life. With my Adidas duffle, I was dodging through the cars on the street and eventually ran across four full lanes of continuous traffic on Michalakopoulo street. When I got to my apartment I tore up 4 flights of stairs and barely made it home.
