This song is two hundred years old. The other day I was speaking with my mother and talking about The Roosevelt on PBS. I commented that I hadnt known that Eleanor had addressed the nation after Pearl Harbor even before the President did. She started her reply with well ... I remember ... ... and it occurred to me that she was there at the time (alive and young, I mean) ... and we waxed poetic about the state of the country in those years and how there was never a sense ever again of the country coming together like that .... But for a brief moment we did during the time of them first gulf war ... if only for those few moments when Whitney Houston sang this youtube/watch?v=N_lCmBvYMRs
