This speech was a complete waste of his time and his nations time. Nearly every world he said was offensive blasphemy to those he has declared extremist war on. Has he contemplated that blasphemy is intolerable to those who read the Satanic Verses no matter who commits it? Signing ones name to an oil contract or to an arms shipment into the desert might make him and his nation wealth and show its power but it does not mean that he has not committed blasphemy in the eyes of the readers of the Satanic Verses. The promise that we will only enforce blasphemy if Muhammad or Allah are insulted or scribe in effigy is ridiculous. There are far too many cross with the prophet Jesus handing in churches to be ignored. There are far to many films made of the prophet Noah and Moses in circulation for Christian, Jews, Taoist, Buddhist, and other idolatry not to fear that the class of blasphemes will not be expanded or contracted any given moment. If the enemy whom he said he would fight had of written his address the he would have been only able to safely walk to the rostrum to say God is great then turn around and sit down. Ignoring this theological problem or accepting the Muhammad/Allah reductionism will avail the pagan idol worshiping world nothing. I once claimed to be a proud pantheist who could accept any of the gods in the pantheon no I am a modified pantheist who fears to turn my gaze in the direction of a toaster on into the clouds in the sky. (And if someone out there thinks that the readers of the Satanic Verses will relent simple because you claim to be an atheist? Forget it! Atheism is the worst form of blasphemy!) This is an irreducible logical problem because if A were B or C there would be less problem but when one looks at the Quran closely and listen to the readers of the Satanic Verse in question A can be 27 alphabet in factorial with the letters placed in a string of seven billion living human beings each with the capacity to state a new blasphemy while awake or in the middle of their sleep. O. will not be able to talk his way out this time.
