This story is a big part of what makes me a Republican: A persons right to decide how to care for their children. I understand the point-of-view from those that are concerned about the children, however, just dis-agreeing with a physician shouldnt be grounds for losing your children. How many people have a story about an incorrect diagnosis that cost them a family member? Doctors are people too... the are susceptible to their own opinions... right or wrong, and that may not coincide with the religious beliefs of the family. Doctors shouldnt be allowed to take babies from parents regardless of the issues of the child. But... this is where Im conflicted: there are some people that arent qualified to be parents... so in that case Doctors should totally be able to take that baby from the parents in order to make sure the child survives. There is no easy solution. This is why Im against 0 tolerance laws... what we need is experience, tempered, rational individuals to evaluate each case on a case-by-case basis to evaluate whether the child will grow up in a home prepared to put the child first or if CPS needs to intervene. https://yahoo/parenting/couple-fights-for-custody-of-children-following-104434804787.html
