This story is truly worth reading B & H Fans! ~Amy I was working with a young horse that had a bad habit of turning into the incredible hulk when you got close to him. You could turn him both ways in the round pen and hed do anything you wanted as long as you stayed out of his dining zone. And when he turned, he turned green, mean, and hungry. One of my mentors, Ralph Hager, watched with amusement as I avoided front and back hooves as well as gnashing teeth. And why does gnashing have a g in it? I think its because g stands for government and they want to be everywhere they dont belong. Squirrel!! Most horses lick their lips to show that they are willing. This one was licking his lips because he thought I was a cowboy-scooby snack. I think he did good just to draw me in so he could eat me. After a little while of this, Ralph walked in and grabbed the halter and said, Let me show you something. He walked right up to the carnivorous beast like it was a newborn puppy...and haltered it like it had been done a thousand times. Before I could voice my displeasure at this and barrage him with questions, he didnt turn and look at me, but stroked the horses neck as he said, You were scaring him to death with all your cautiousness and tip-toeing. The only thing that tip-toes up to a horse is something that is trying to eat it. I learned a valuable life lesson from those words. When everything seems to be attacking from every angle, its usually when I am trying to tip-toe through life and avoid any kind of trial or discomfort. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7 © Kevin Weatherby 2014
