This story makes me absolutely sick to my stomach and makes me want to cry for hours at the same time. The woman is obviously mentally ill - how else could something like this happen? But it does make me wonder if any assistance was being offered to the family for the child, and if so, was there any respite care for the mom to feel like she had help of some kind? All in all, its a HORRIBLE tragedy, and I hope something we can stop from occurring in the future. She apparently blogged about her struggles, but obviously didnt get the help she needed. (And now has to live the rest of her life in the absolute misery knowing what she did.)
