This stuff is no joke. Im currently navigating a situation with a well-known fitness pro who has been ripping my content verbatim and posting as her own with zero credit given. Asking people to cite me when they take my words verbatim isnt about needing to be seen or be the smartest person in the room. It is about integrity. Recognition of the fact that hours of time, energy and money go into creating UNIQUE, well thought-out frameworks, content and tools that helps people get better. Sharing is amazing because it allows the message to get out in a bigger way, which is why its magical. But citing the source is critical. In fact, its everything. And luckily, you can help people and also cite your sources! Theyre not mutually exclusive! I think many fitness pros dont cite their sources because they think it takes away from their expertise. Thats not at all the case. In fact, linking to other reputable sources boosts *your* integrity, expands your network in a useful way, and *enhances* your expertise. True creators get this. Thank you Jen Sinkler and Lou Schuler for providing a link to this article.
