This sucks. The 2014 Canadian Spartan Race as officially ended. Met lots of new people, all of which I can call my friends (The Spartan Street Team Marie Ch, P4ID Team (Brandon Shields, Jason Shields, Harry Francis, Lloyd Samuell, Richard Rulz, Leo Vitelli) , the Eh Team Johanna Lopez, Genevieve Cholette, Brittany Pollock, Jen Milligan) Linda Nguyen, Scott Weir, Martin Labbé, Team Hext (Patrick Austin, Kirk MacLean, Anna Arsenault aka Momstrong), Spencer Mahoney aka Spartan Spencer, team Platinum Rig (Jesse Bruce, Benjamin Morin Boucher, PlatinumRig Dom), Robb Chartrand, Franco Almeida, Rob Lavoie, Maddy Orr. Sorry if I missed anyone. You arent forgotten!). This season had many firsts for a few of my friends (Jason Carroll, Robbie Collinson, Isabella Quinn, Scott Kerr, Gilbert Ninh, Textstyle Homebased, Eric Gravel. Proud of all of you!) and theres only two medals on my rack that mean a lot to me. 1st obviously being the Trifecta medal. The one I couldnt achieve last year due to the 1 super early in the season. So this year Im making up for it by going to Vermont and achieving the double Trifecta. the 2nd medal that means a lot, is a Sprint. The race my wife Mandy Drew conquered. She persevered through all the pain and the grueling heat, and conquered every obstacle. Whether I helped or not, she did not give up. It was one of the best moments of my life, racing along side you. And I hope that maybe next year youd like to take it on again, and beat your time. Maybe train for it too lol Thank you to all my Ottawa peeps who came out training with me, helping me and pushing me on (Joshua Styles, Karine Vaillancourt, Katrina ONeill, Ashley Beland, Meg Vanderbeken, Morgan Mckay, Saint-Matthew FC, Jen Groleau) Just under 8 weeks to train until the Ultra Beast in Vermont. Looking forward to seeing many of you out there, and meeting new people. Cant wait to race along side all of you again! AROO!
