This summer, dairy farms that have been losing scores of cattle every year to TB are reporting that, for the first time in decades, their herds are free of infection. Isnt that a bit soon? The first year into a four year cull is too early to speculate over its impact. The benefits of badger culling, measured in terms of reduced cattle TB, are expected to be delivered over a 10 year period. - - Tackling Bovine tb Since 2013, ministers have tightened restrictions on the movement of infected cattle and increased testing but, despite recent falls in bovine TB, Keeling said it was too early to assess the impacts of the policy changes. - - Prof. Matt Keeling, 2nd July 2014 (so, surely too early to see impacts of the cull as well?)
