This talk is worth it if youre needing a spiritual pick me up, of a non-religious kind during these cold, dreary days. I first read him a little over five years ago, back when I was struggling to finish a term-paper. I never did finish that paper, beginning a descent into greater self-judgment and shame, but the beauty of reading Blessed Unrest with a fervent appetite does linger with me ever so slightly. Im glad to have read it in place of the overwhelming crush of classwork and reading five books for class and writing to synthesize it all that was due. I guess that makes me an ineffective, unstudious, incompetent. bad person. Cant fix it now. Never fixed it. But, I retained if only, an essence of informing my values, even if inable to articulate them. Absolute learning cannot be retained from within a classroom or a workshop, unless it is ongoing throughout life. I miss that constancy.
