This time last year (31/12/2013), I was sitting in the kitchen of Karen Hardwick making her listen to Lana Del Rey. A year has passed and I am so amazed at how far God has brought me. Being a St. Chad Volunteer opened my eyes to see myself as the person God made me to be. I thank John Coyne and the PCC of Aldridge Parish Church for accepting me to serve and for teaching me that I can serve, no matter how young I am. Thank you to Chris Hassell for the endless conversations and drinks at the Avion and for being my first friend in the UK. To Maxine... where do I start. All I can say is that I miss you and I love you... alot :(. To Phil Wilks, Rob Cook, Becki Emery Matthew Emery Al Harris and Catherine Miller, thank you for showing me what its like to be a Youth Leader; that its having a relationship with each and every one of the youths and its bringing them to Christ, through friendship and fellowship. Phil, a shout out to you for allowing me to grow musically and introducing me to a different way of worship leading (p.s. I miss Thirsty) Rachel Butterfield, childrens work was never a ministry I would put my toe in but you took me in and guided me so much so I could handle an assembly on my own.. Thank you for showing me the joy in bringing children closer to God. To the Aldridge Youth Fellowship, my time spent with you was a time where I learnt about friendship and how much it can impact a person. You will always have a friend in me AND PLEASE DO NOT FORGET THE ROYAL RUMBLE!!! Lydia Poniatowska and Libby Swain, your love and friendship made me look forward to the weekends. I love you both. To Jon and Kath Bowyer and little Emily, thank you for taking me in, and being with me through my first experience of many things i.e. frost, snow, how to transform baths into showers and to the wonders of pate ;p. To my mentor, Simon Bickersteth, thank you for always always being there. Thank you for your prayers and your guidance and for just being a phone call away (and for my first toad-in-a-hole). To Ruth Clay, Stanley (Steve), Joe and the Ketchup Monster (Callum), thank you for making me realise the Indian in me and for making me love that part of me. Made 2 lemon meringue pies this week and full Sunday Roast thanks to the many meals I learnt to cook from you... I will always be your Maureen :)
