This time of year always makes me dream about my Jungle garden, I - TopicsExpress

This time of year always makes me dream about my Jungle garden, I had when I was married and had a house. We had a very long garden which backed onto a wood, great for transpiration, the trees offered protection like a little micro climate. I always loved exotic large leaf jungly plants, and decided to produce a tropical garden. so I cordoned off the back of the garden with a hugh trellis and a gate, and planted exotic climbers all over it, I dug out one side as a bog garden and the other side of a walkway a pond and built a stream with a sort of a robinson crusoe type place to sit.. and dip your toes in the stream, I could grow banana plants, Musa ensete, and musa ventricosum, alocasias, colocasias, tree ferns and palms, It took me a couple of years to get it established, but I had the time of my life, I also built a greenhouse, and grew from seed a lot of rare exotics. Later, I used the green house to grow cacti and I was also very interested in caudici form and pachycaul succulents, amazing plants from desert areas. I got divorced two years later when it was all grown in and lovely, the ex wife, flattened it all and made it into a lawn, well but she kept one large trachycarpus, as the centerpiece. Im glad I kept some of the photos, I do miss my garden especially in the winter, but living in a skyrise flat is depressing lol, Im hopefully looking into an allotment in the new year. Heres a couple of pictures of the garden in its second year.
