This video is the Changing of the Guard at Greeces Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. According to our guide, the skirt of their uniform has 400 pleats to represent the 400 years Greece was under the rule of the Turks. The red beret symbolizes courage. And the pom pom on their shoes allowed them to hide daggers for up-close-and-personal combat. They are not allowed to deviate from their marching program nor smile or interact with the crowd. They are not even allowed to wipe the sweat from their brow nor even satiate their thirst. That is taken care of by the guard in green who carefully blots their faces, fixes their uniform, And even hold the cups of water to their lips (because the ones on duty are not allowed to even touch the cups).
