This was a twitter message by a medical doctor to me on carbs after I posted some tips on carbs on twitter yesterday. “Be afraid be very afraid... Eating carbs might not gain the weight but you wont lose.... Stay away from the carbs #weightloss” Contrary to this advice from this medical doctor you can lose weight eating carbs daily and staying away from carbs is dangerous when you are talking about energy efficiency purposes and optimal brain functionality. In fact the American Dietetic Association recommends a minimum of 130 grams of carbs per day for minimal daily brain functionality and daily energy needs. At the end of the day it is really how much you consume of this that will dictate weightloss vs weight-gain and staying away from carbs completely should never be an option. No disrespect to any medical doctors out there but some of you honestly need to stick to just giving medical advice only and leave the nutrition and fitness advice to fitness and nutrition experts who have either gone to school for it or who studied this on a consistent continuous basis
