This was brought to my attention by Dick Hogben a while ago & Ive just received this email from the action group. I urge you to take the time to look at the links & follow any further links found there to see the background to this situation & then take any appropriate action. For those that dont know, Sark is a tiny Channel island that has no vehicles of any kind, the only mode of transport is either foot, bicycle or horse & has been a peaceful haven for hundreds of years, until the Barclays started their campaign of harrasement in order to turn it into a playground for the rich & famous, driving out the local inhabitants. Spread the word folks, dont let them bulldoze over the little people (theyre not actually little, but you know what I mean!! :-) ) Dear friends, Last week it was announced that the Company owned by Sir Frederick and Sir David Barclay, Sark Estate Management, would not be opening any of their retail outlets, restaurants or any of their four Hotels in Sark during 2015 and for the foreseeable future. This will obviously go a long way towards crippling the Sark economy. We want to spread the word that Sark is very much open for business despite this shocking news. By visiting this very special place, you would be helping to keep the Islands economy going. Please share this petition and this short film to everyone you know, vimeo/111981568 For latest information you can read the article from Guardian and the Times: Guardian: Police called in over media harrasment on Sark, Times: Sark paper accused of harrassing islanders. Thank you for your support, Campaigns by You team on behalf of Sark campaigners
