This was the pitch of my life. When London bid to host the Olympics in 2012, they made a promise to use the Games to inspire children everywhere into sport. At the time I worked for UNICEF (long before my Do What You Love days), and I remember the moment I heard that, and had a dream of making it happen. Soon after I found myself sitting in a room with UNICEF UKs President Lord David Puttnam, and Chief Executive David Bull, pitching to the government, the London 2012 Organising Committee and UK Sport with an idea which would make that bid promise a reality. I left UNICEF several years ago, but an incredible team carried on with that project, built strong partnerships and never gave up, and it remains one of the proudest things I have done in my career. It was such a privilege to work alongside Lord Coe, Sir Keith Mills, the amazing team at UNICEF and all the partners who made it possible, and I still find it staggering that over 25 million children have benefitted and been inspired into sport (and doing what they love!) as a result. This was promise-keeping on a major scale, and shows what major sports events and brands can do if they use their power and appeal for good. - Beth
