This week Catfights was inspired by four artists. Angelo Badalamentis awesome score for Blue Velvet, so youll find both the french horn solo of Mysteries Of Love and the version with the awesome Julee Cruise. Another inspiration is No2, the new and again wonderful album of Brussels based Christina Vantzou, which is really mindblowing and beautiful. For the third inspiration I digged into my vinyl library and came out with that epic John Surman album Upon Reflection, since the first inpirations of this session are twice in this show, I chose besides the glorious Edges Of Illusion his collaboration with Anouar Brahem أنور براهم and Dave Holland, both fabulous musicians, getting together in a stunning trio. And the fourth one: Alva Noto, of course. Hes God, or something like that. ... That was the basis of this show ... the rest came with it. Enjoy this trip. Feel free to share.
