This week I worked on a villa in the Kapparis area that had three areas on the roof where pigeons were causing a problem. The gable end of the villa overlooks an overflow swimming pool and the pigeons have been actively using this area to loiter before flying down to the swimming pool for a drink. The patio area directly below the gable end was being covered in pigeon poo. Fire Gel has been put in place every 20cm to stop the pigeons landing on the gable end, the Fire Gel works in three ways, in the first instance pigeons do not like the smell of the substance, it acts as an irritant and finally pigeons see the gel as a ball of fire. Fire Gel will make pigeons completely change their habits and is a fool proof product in certain conditions. Fishing net had previously been fitted to the flat roof and solar panel, the fishing net has broken down with the UV rays and has now been removed. Pigeons have been using the under solar panel area to lay their eggs. The pictures show the solar panel and flat roof areas which have now been fully enclosed with pigeon netting. This product has a manufacturers guarantee of 10 years, UV rays will not break this netting down.
