This week in our class music history...August 25, 1979 The Knack reach #1 on the Billboard charts with My Sharona. The first time in over a year that a song other than a ballad or a disco song hit #1, My Sharona became a bellwether of rock resurgence. I happen to remember this song on Wagoners AM radio station. For some reason I was at the station in the little strip mall just down from the NAPA store. Brian Herman was DJing and was playing this song as much as he could. The Knack could never seem to find the knack after that, though, and have been relegated to the one-hit-wonder section of music history.
