This week of recording my attempts at living on the minimum wage have helped add personal anecdotes to what I already knew. This article provides extra information in my arsenal for those who say it may be too bad that Walmart and the fast food industry dont pay a living wage, but that they cant afford to shop elsewhere. The hidden cost of allowing these corporations to underpay their workers is not just in the struggles of those workers, but the costs that get transferred to others, fueling resentment of the underpaid workers and not dealing with the real problem.
