This week our three nominees on Song of Alaska are; Meathead MC nominated The Neighborhood by Meathead MC. It’s a rap song performed by Sitka’s favorite DJ and former Raven Volunteer. The song is a special shout out to folks living on HPR. John Stein nominated “The Dramamine Fisherman” by Hobo Jim. Hobo Jim is an Anchorage and MatSu valley institution who is a regular on the Iditarod circuit and is a favorite at the Alaska State Fair in Palmer. Ed Schoenfeld recommended Marian Call on his own Facebook Page. I followed the link and fell in love with this CD. “I Wish I Were a Real Alaska Girl” is a funny song about trying to live up to the image.
