This week the Church-Wide Assembly of the ELCA meets in Pittsburgh to pray, vote on budget and a criminal justice social statement and to elect the next presiding bishop of the Lutheran Church! The presiding bishop serves for a six-year term. Bishop Mark Hanson has served in this position for the past 12 years. Results of third ballot vote (from this morning) are: 919 votes cast Votes needed to elect: 613 Elizabeth Eaton 345 Mark Hanson 271 Jessica Crist 171 Please keep Bishops Eaton, Hanson, and Crist in your prayers, as well as the whole assembly.
