This week was a really good week of the Lords work. I love to - TopicsExpress

This week was a really good week of the Lords work. I love to recognize and feel his hand as we harvest in his vineyard for the last time. Jacob 5...Verse 72 is one of my favorites. There is a lot about that chapter and I still dont understand it all but it is a good thing to study. Most importantly is that we are here working hard to bring others unto Christ. Monday was a pretty sick day. Rested a bit, tired from ball but it is good helps us be prepared for the week. But we went over and had a family night with the Mayers. Sister Mayer, without notice, threw together a lesson for us and it was good. Michelle is so prepared to receive the gospel. I want to see her baptism bad but I think that she goes to Trinidad soon. But it will happen as soon as she gets married. She is a wonderful lady though. I will stay in contact with her and the Mayers family. Tuesday we had district meeting of course and than had to do some things for the day. It was Elder Dearings birthday. That boy is getting old. We got ice cream and ting and contacted a few people there. This mission is so different from the rest of the world. It is so interesting. Sometimes I wish I could experience another mission to see what it is like. We had a fireside with Elder Gamiette of the area 70. Good man. He talked a lot about how we need to work with the Lord and do it through our youth and help get them involved in the work. I really wish that I would have graduated 4 year seminary. It would have helped so much. Wednesday was an alright day. We had a meeting with the Mizels. He is our new Elders Quorum president. They fed us Mexican food. It was really good. Always a good time to go over there relax a little bit and enjoy the family setting that is there. They are both very good parents and great to their children. Saw the Mayers again and started to teach the Plan of Salvation. I feel like every time I teach that lesson I teach myself. There is so much to learn about it and I love it. It is always so good to think about Jesus Christ and the Atonement that he had to perform for us. Amazing what he went through. Thats what our first lesson was on, the atonement from the teachings of President Joseph Fielding Smith. Then a lady told me she wants to marry me. I said well let me teach you about Jesus first. Ha we had a good lesson with her in a members salon. Always a good question....Why is there so many different churches? I invite you all to listen to the talk called Why 1820 very good talk. I think it was given by a man named Hyrum Smith. Might be wrong, I have it but it might be hard for you to find very good though and helps us understand the apostasy and why so many different churches. We are really focusing on having our recent converts hold FHE. That is what we are going to be doing this week with a good amount of our members and it is going to be fun. The Scotts are a wonderful family and doing great missionary work. I love them. Tandica keeps her kids in order and loves to learn about the gospel. Friday morning woke up at like 2:30am to get ready for the trip to Suriname to renew my visa. It was great. I had to drive the whole way. Elder Dearing passed out in the drivers seat. It was a tough drive. Clocked a bat real hard that woke everybody up. Ha but it was dark. Getting cold in the car. No music nobody to talk to. So I thought the faster I get there the faster I can rest a little bit. Pulled off the road once to shut my eyes for like 10 minutes. Ha but with the speed (not something to brag about) but made it there in a record setting time. Wont say it though. But it was good. Able to have a good time with them and then drive around Berbice a bit to deliver stuff to missionaries down there. Saturday we had a really good day. We taught about 5 new investigators. Grows that fast. It was good. One of the men that we started to teach is very intelligent and just asked us grips of questions. I remember at the beginning of my mission I was not able to answer all of them but now I have a hard time not being able to answer them. I have learned so much from the scriptures and the spirit combined of which I am so grateful for. But there is still so much to learn. Sunday was great, we had 136 at church. A really good amount! We were happy about it, with 12 investigators. President Mckenzie does a great job teaching gospel principles. Keeps things clear and helps people understand things. We saw the Gray Family, Nigel and his wife. They are preparing for the 7th of February. I really do love them and that man is an athlete. Played nationals for like every sport here. Jadbirs are a great family too and cooked for us 3 times this week. They are a lot of fun. We hope to be able to help 2 of the gals there get baptized but we will see. I sure do love you all and I know that this work is true thats why I am doing it. Do what you can to be involved. Elder Smith
