This week we are able to resume our Little As program thanks to these three guys. Andrew Cole didnt even get to finish his holiday before I contacted him to help solve our problem once we found out the Showgrounds were unavailable. He arrived back home last night and was at the High School oval early this morning with his trusty line marker out. I doubt that many people appreciate the knowledge and dedication that Andrew brings to athletics. Im not sure where we would be without him. Last night I was blown away when I received a message from one of our former athletes. Jack Randell got in touch to say that he was in town for a few days and would love to help out with the measuring and the line marking. Im sure theres not too many 17 year olds spending their holidays giving back to their junior sports club. Just as work was about to begin this morning, current club member Jackson Rehbein arrived, ready for a days work. Jacksons enthusiasm and dedication to his club show the depth of character in this young man. I am immensely proud of our club. The tone was set by the founding members, particularly Tricia Heap and Alison Leeson. They created an environment where young people developed more than just sporting skills. I think we have managed to maintain this environment by our parents and senior athletes being such positive role models. Little As is more than our sporting club...its our sporting family. I look forward to catching up with you all at the High School oval in Gee Street on Friday evening at 5:30pm.
