This weekend I accomplished a first for me with regards to production. A tune I had ready for my new album just wasnt sticking right with me, and try as I might I couldnt get it to work. I suddenly had the realisation that it was because it was one of the earlier tunes I had produced for this project and as my production has come on in leaps and bounds in the last year, it was never going to fit unless I started again - using the basic foundations of the tune of course, but going in on it again using the techniques I had since learned. I must have mixed, bounced and listened to that tune about 35 times this weekend, but I never gave up, and just kept refining it. Finally today, it is finished and being sent off to be mastered. Producing music is a whole nother beast in this music buzz - but one I am more than happy to face head on... this shit is addictive!!
