This weekend we welcome back into his kitchen, Giorgio’s founder (and namesake) Chef George Lampros. Fresh off of his yearly pilgrimage back to his homeland (Greece), he’s back to join forces with Chef Mike and continue the tradition of offering great food that matters; food made with the freshest ingredients, and a respect for both the traditional and contemporary style of cooking. We kick it off by offering some really beautiful specials this weekend that are sure to impress. If you’ve never had Burrata, you are missing out! It’s a fresh cheese made with mozzarella and fresh cream that has a solid outer shell with a rich creamy middle. Just imagine what it will do with a big hunk of bread and those marinated olives. For an entrée tonight, we are highlighting a very traditional greek dish that is usually served when the weather starts to turn to cold. It’s called “Kokkinisto” which literally is translated to mean “reddened” or “red sauced”. Hunks of fresh beef are braised for hours until they are tender and then are stewed in a spiced tomato sauce for an additional amount of time allowing all the flavors to intensify. Hearty, savory, and just perfect. As always, here’s the whole lineup.... Appetizers *Burrata - Fresh Italian Mozzarella cheese. The outer shell is solid mozzarella, while the inside contains both mozzarella and cream, giving it a soft creamy texture. Served with an olive salad. *Greek Caesar Salad - Romaine, croutons, tomatoes, white anchovies, feta cheese and olives. Tossed in a Greek Vinaigrette. Entrees *Oven Roasted Chicken - Herb Rubbed and Oven Roasted ½ Chicken. Served with Rice and Gigantes Beans. *Shrimp Basil Agli’ Olio - Jumbo Shrimp Sautéed with Fresh Garlic, Basil, and Olive Oil. Tossed with Rigatoni Pasta. Served with garlic bread. *Kokkinisto - A Traditional Greek Dish with braised beef stewed in a rich tomato sauce with spices. Served on top of mashed potatoes. *Pan Roasted Salmon With Capers, Artichokes, Mushrooms, White Wine & Lemon Butter. Served with Potato of the Day. Soup of the Day - Broccoli Cheddar Dessert Special - Fried Cheesecake served with a caramel drizzle
