This weeks Museum selection from The ARTe Project ... Marsh at the Whitney, 1955, by one of Ohios favorite sons, Clyde Singer. Canton art dealer, Lazar Tarzan, once described Clyde Singer as, “The gentlest man I’ve ever known.” Singer painted what he termed, “The juice of life,” creating extraordinary art from people’s ordinary lives. He recreated scenes from everyday life in America filtered through a Jimmy Stewart / Frank Capra lens. His simple, recognizable style was almost caricature in its simplicity. Yet, almost every one of the over 3,000 paintings Singer made, told a story. Learn more at arteforeverybody/email/singer/index.html
