Although it seems more intuitive to argue that only the opposite is true (when you feel more pride, you will stand up straight), many researchers in the past decades have also found the reverse relationship. William James, the father of modern American psychology, opposed the intuitive notion that emotion causes body posture and not vice versa. It seems in fact that the posture (at least in part) is emotion.
