This weeks safer Neighbourhod Team News - Welwyn Hatfield. 28/3/14 - part 1! PCSO Neil Kitchener signed up 60 more homes this week to NHW and OWL in the HOWLANDS AREA of WGC. After a complicated investigation, Pc Finnan identified a person who has deceived the elderly and vulnerable. Detectives are now on the case and have linked numerous other offences. The offender has been located , charged and remanded in custody. Great work by Pc Finnan to prevent other offences. On 25th March, Pc Ross saw males being spoken to by our colleagues from the Roads Policing Department while on patrol in The Ryde. As he pulled up to offer help, one of the males ran off. Pc Ross sprinted after the male and caught him. He was wanted for immigration offences and was arrested – HM immigration were informed. On 27th March, Pc Miah attended and assisted our colleagues from the Council evict a tenant in West Hatfield. We had supplied information to the Housing department regarding complaints we had received from other tenants. On Friday 21st Pc Tassell and PCSO Rider attended a complaint regarding two suspicious individuals in TEWIN ROAD WGC – they were located in LUDWICK WAY. One male discarded a bag over a residents gate and decided to make off. The officers persued the male and he was detained along with the female who were both arrested and charged for theft. The male was also wanted in relation to another theft and was charged for that also. Pc Tassell and Pc Edmondson were on patrol when they answered a call regarding a burglary. They attended immediately and worked with local units to locate the described offender who was arrested. The suspects home was immediately searched and property was recovered. The male has been charged, bail was refused and remanded in custody. Pcso Christina Cooper identified offenders in the Post Office at MOORS WALK SHOPS. As a result of her excellent local knowledge she was able to identify two offenders for the theft who were both charged with the offence. /Continued below
