This weeks update: I am planning a trip to Central Java in Indonesia 26 December 2014 to 11 January 2015. I have a position available suit either PA/ junior lawyer/legal assistant/lawyer of any range of years experience (criminal defence lawyers will love it as it involves championing the little guy so they can get justice) and any other suitable interested person to come with me. To be actually helpful you should be able to type at least 70 words per minute to take affidavits from Indonesian speaking clients about matters that happened at sea in New Zealand regarding admiralty law case which is very interesting ( I have access to a translator). Need to bring lap top etc. Looking for suitable person to come with me who can type, who is good with technology as would like to film/video the taking of the statements and would like travel companion who will also be a pleasure to spend time with. Position could suit a lawyer, student law, other smilar student, graduate, wife of lawyer who can type or other person interested in law who wants to have an adventure over the Christmas holidays and help on this business trip overseas. If any Barristers want to come that would work too especially if you can type as then option for tax deductible work combination holiday trip and you can help take some affidavits while you are there for High Court litigation. I see the case and the trip like international communty justice. Clients are located in small villages or in small towns in Tegal, Cirebon and Brebes. so we will be staying out of the main centre. I think it would be an amazing opportunity to help people in need who need lawyers so they can get justice and will be an adventure in doing law in another country with limited resources. I want to apply therapeutic jurisprudence on a legal problem that involves three countries to uplift people who have ben abused and who are in poverty who need help and access to legal services. Currently liaising with travel agent for cost of flights and accommodation/hotels/private rental houses/resorts etc for the options. Looking to travel boxing day 26 December 2014 and be back by 13 January 2015. Let me know who is interested. We could coordinate a conference for ourselves at resort while there for CPE hours if a group of Barristers wanted to come.
