This week’s Hazard Highlights feature severe flooding from heavy rainfall across the Eastern European countries of Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Flooding in Serbia has forced over 500 people to evacuate, and more rain is predicted over the next few days in the most affected city of Krusevac. Elsewhere, in Peru, the Ubinas volcano has become more active with ash emissions affecting areas 24 miles away. An estimated 5,000 people have been impacted and national officials have evacuated some towns.
